In the department of Dermatology of Daegu Catholic University Medical Center, which has established itself as one of the best dermatologists in the region, the best faculty, full-time doctors, residents, and nurses provide the best care for many patients suffering from skin diseases and those seeking healthy skin. By opening Laser center, Phototherapy Center (photomedicine), Medical skincare center, Fungus research center, Cryotherapy, Vitiligo and Psoriasis Clinic, we are committed to the treatment of a wide range of skin diseases including atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, vitiligo, contact dermatitis, allergic disorders, hair diseases, skin tumors, hereditary diseases, pigmented diseases, vascular diseases, acne, and skin aging, etc.
As the quality of life has increased, interest in skin beauty has increased, and we are expanding the scope of treatment by introducing laser surgery, chemical peeling, diamond peeling, and so on. Also, with the goal of training competent dermatologists who will lead the field of dermatology in the future, all professors under the head professor have been working hard to train their residents. We expanded the weekly book reading and skin pathology conferences. Now we are working on basic science, clinical slide presentation, journal review, and histopathology study through the voluntary participation of the residents. The department has become a venue for lectures and practice platform for Daegu Catholic University students. In terms of research, we are showing the nature of leading dermatologies in the region by having presented papers, presentations, and reported cases of rare diseases in the Journal of Korean Society of Dermatology and Other Societies since the 1980s.
