As the region’s premier department of dermatology, the Department of Dermatology at Daegu Catholic University Medical Center is dedicated to providing optimal care. Our top-tier faculty, clinical fellows, residents, and nursing staff are committed to treating patients suffering from skin disorders as well as serving those who seek healthy, beautiful skin. We operate specialized centers and clinics—including the Laser Center, Photomedicine Center, Medical Skincare Center, Mycology Research Center, Cryotherapy Clinic, and Vitiligo & Psoriasis Clinic—focusing on a broad range of dermatological conditions such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, vitiligo, contact dermatitis, allergic diseases, hair disorders, skin tumors, hereditary skin diseases, pigmented lesions, vascular disorders, acne, and skin aging. In line with the growing interest in skin aesthetics driven by higher standards of living, we continue to expand our treatment offerings with advanced procedures such as laser therapy, chemical peeling, and diamond microdermabrasion. Furthermore, with the goal of nurturing competent dermatologists who will lead the future of the field, all faculty members under the department chair dedicate their full passion and expertise to resident education. Our weekly book reading sessions and dermatopathology conferences have steadily expanded. Currently, residents actively participate in basic science seminars, clinical slide presentations, journal reviews, and histopathology studies to advance their academic knowledge. The department also serves as an active teaching and practical training ground for Daegu Catholic University School of Medicine students. On the research front, our department has demonstrated its leadership in regional dermatology since the 1980s by presenting papers and presentations at the Journal of the Korean Dermatological Association and various academic conferences, as well as reporting cases of rare skin diseases. Additionally, the Department of Dermatology at Daegu Catholic University Medical Center runs a specialized clinic dedicated to the accurate diagnosis and treatment of atopic dermatitis.
