Currently, Korea is navigating a highly unsettled and critical period due to various major national issues, including the conflict between the government and the medical community. As I take my first steps as a director of the hospital, I feel a tremendous weight on my shoulders and find myself reflecting deeply on the many responsibilities and challenges that lie ahead. However, as a healthcare institution dedicated to the health and healing of our patients, I promise that we will faithfully fulfill our core duties. Together with all our staff, we will carry out the essential functions of a tertiary hospital with utmost dedication.

Furthermore, I will forward and build upon the legacy of our senior medical professionals and staff, whose dedication built this hospital from its 1980 founding to its current stature. To drive our next leap forward, I will lead our entire team in uniting to establish ourselves as a premier medical institution.

By leveraging our proven track record of outstanding performance in patient experience assessments over the years, we will further strengthen our identity as a patient-centered hospital. To ensure solid internal growth, we will continue our reputation as a hospital that excels in diagnosis, treatment, and surgery through the recruitment and retention of top medical talent, the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment, and appropriate investments.

Lastly, we will redouble our efforts to build a smart hospital—an initiative we have been actively pursuing. Crucially, I will focus on creating a work environment where our staff can feel proud to be part of Daegu Catholic University Medical Center and dedicate themselves with passion.

Though these are challenging times, I will embrace every circumstance and effort as the foundation for our hospital’s next great leap, faithfully carrying out my duties as hospital director.
