Obstetrics and Gynecology department began its work with the opening of Daegu Catholic University Hospital as a general hospital on August 12, 1980, in Daemyung-dong, Daegu. We started medical treatment, and the classroom started upon the establishment of medical school.
In 2000, the Women's Health Center was established in the medical center to begin further management of women's health.
The Gynecology department provides medical services and education for women in various fields, including prenatal care and healthy delivery, as well as gynecological cancer, benign gynecological diseases, postmenopausal women's management, and urinary gynecological diseases.
In the gynecological area, there is a wide range from the diagnosis of female cancer (ovarian and fallopian tubal, endometrial and cervical, vulvar, vaginal) to surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, etc. Comprehensive treatment is available, and high-quality laparoscopic surgery is also possible in various gynecological conditions. Besides, we are systematically managing and treating chronic pelvic pain and menstrual pain.
In the field of obstetrics, our medical staff performs prenatal care and diagnosis, standard delivery, high-risk maternal care, and ultrasound. The delivery room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so that you can consult at any time.
