The Department of Orthopedic Surgery covers a wide range of trauma—affecting the bones, joints, muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and ligaments—as well as various musculoskeletal diseases throughout the body. Its scope encompasses the central axis (spine and pelvis), the upper extremities (shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand), and the lower extremities (hip, knee, ankle, and foot). As of 2019, our team at Daegu Catholic University Hospital Department of Orthopedic Surgery consists of eight faculty professors specializing in their respective subfields, offering both non-surgical and surgical treatments—including arthroscopy, joint replacement, and spine surgery. Supported by three clinical fellows and eight residents, we are fully committed to excellence in research, patient care, and education.
