Vascular Surgery is a field that diagnoses vascular diseases occurring in all blood vessels (neck, torso, limbs) of the body, such as arteries, veins, and lymph nodes, and conducts medication and non-surgical treatment as well as vascular surgery.
Vascular Surgery at Daegu Catholic University Medical Center, which started in 1998, has been conducting 500 vascular surgeries annually with a “hybrid vascular operating room” that can perform vascular surgery and vascular intervention simultaneously. Notably, compared to aortic aneurysm open surgery, the experience of “intravascular stent-graft surgery,” a relatively safe minimally invasive operation, has become unique among the leading hospitals in Korea, serving as a Center for vascular diseases in the Yeongnam region. Also, we established the “vascular function laboratory” for the first time in the area. A professional examiner, who holds a U.S. vascular function test certificate, diagnoses blood circulation disorders associated with vascular diseases.
