The department operates six test roomsfor upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy and therapeutic endoscopy. And it provides a systematic and comprehensive implementation of the necessary diagnosis and treatment of patients with digestive diseases byproviding affiliatedtest rooms for the digestive tract exercise, ultrasound endoscopy, pancreatic endoscopy, liver ultrasonography, and liver fibrosis examination.
2. Gastroenterology procedures
To perform the best specialized endoscopic procedures we have teams of internal medicine professors, full-time gastroenterologists, internal medicine specialists, and dedicated nurses. The department conducts 10,000 diagnostic endoscopy and 2,000 treatment endoscopy procedures annually. Also, the capsule endoscopy and the balloon endoscopy that examines the small intestine are done most actively in the region. We perform various methods such as endoscopic resection of early gastric cancer, colon polyp removal, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, and hemostasis of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Conscious Endoscopy (sleep endoscopy): By intravenously injecting a sedative and conducting an endoscopy in the sleep state, patients respond to the needs of the examiner but feel less pain during the procedure. The department has been performing a conscious endoscopy since 1997 to minimize pain during the endoscopy procedure.
Biliary Pancreatic Endoscopy: We have extensive experience and know-how in endoscopic pancreatic imaging, and we are performing cutting-edge procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of gallbladder stones, bile ducts, and pancreatic cancer. For patients who need emergency treatment with cholecystitis or pancreatitis, we operate an emergency ERCP team to provide prompt and specialized therapy to many patients.
Gastrointestinal Motility TestRoom: Special equipment is provided to conduct Urea Breath Test,Esophageal manometry,Oddi sphincter manometry, Anorectal manometry,24-hour ambulatory esophageal acidity impedance test, etc. and perform a thorough examination of functional gastrointestinal diseases such as gastrointestinal reflux and constipation.
Ultrasound Endoscopy: A device that generates ultrasound at the end of the endoscope to more accurately observe the internal organs of the human body has been introduced. It is receiving a lot of help in the accurate diagnosis of gastrointestinal tract tumors or the diagnosis of pancreatic and biliary diseases, especially pancreatic cancer. It was the first of its kind in a local hospital and is still actively being tested.
